AHA HeartCode® Basic Life Support (BLS) — 2025 Guidelines
Course Format:
Blended learning (self-directed eLearning + hands-on skills session)
Intended Audience:
Healthcare professionals, clinical students, and other personnel who must be proficient in CPR and basic cardiovascular life support techniques in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Blended course is intended for both Initial (New) and Renewal BLS Certification.

Online Portion (HeartCode® BLS)
|
Self-paced eLearning modules, eSimulations, interactive content, video tutorials, knowledge checks, and adaptive learning paths. Learners may choose a pre-hospital or in-hospital contextual track.

Hands-On Skills Session W/ Skills Validation
|
Instructor-led or simulation station session to practice and validate practical skills (compressions, ventilations, AED, choking relief, team CPR). Students must demonstrate proficiency in required skills under observation to receive course completion certification.

Duration & Timing

Online portion: ~Up to 2 hours (may vary depending on learner’s prior knowledge)

Skills session: ~2.5 Hours, depending on experience and number of learners.
Certification & Validity
This course requires that you have completed the Heartcode BLS online course prior to the hands on portion of the course. Please include your completion Certificate number at check out as directed.
